Jodi Blumstein has been studying Astanga yoga for 15 years. From 1999 to 2005 she was the director of Priya Yoga -the first Astanga/vinyasa yoga school in Chicago. During these years she traveled extensively to study her practice and hosted workshops in Chicago with many of the most experienced master Astanga teachers in the world. Through this experience she developed a unique personal teaching style that reflects a broad variety of influences and the many many years of experience of her mentors. Jodi sees the practice as a highly transformative experience; it is physical exercise to keep the body clean, mental exercise to keep the mind sharp; and a tool for waking up to who we truly are, beyond name and form. Jodi has the unique ability to work with students of all levels, ages, and physical ability and to guide them towards establishing consistent, daily practice to improve health on all levels. She encourages students to explore the unknown both on and off the mat and not to take anything too seriously.

Currently, Jodi is living in Los Angeles and exploring her personal practice after giving birth to her first child. She teaches the Mysore program for Yoga Works at the Center for Yoga near Hollywood, sees private yoga clients, prepares gourmet raw foods for friends, and spends time with her daughter, Bella. She also leads workshops and retreats around the US, Central America and Canada.
